About Me

Hello! My name is Maxine Guo. I am a 12 year old middle schooler at Peterson Middle School with a passion for media literacy and computer science. I have some experience in Python programming. In my free time, I enjoy coding, learning some hardware, and playing viola. Currently, I'm working on a project for the Congressional App Challenge called DeBunk'D. I am also a member of Hack Club. I'm always looking for new challenges and opportunities to learn and grow.

My Interests

Media Literacy: I believe information is our secret power in the world today with misinformation floating everywhere. By educating many with information, we can fight one of the biggest issues that troubles our world today.
Programming: I have really enjoyed programming since I started when I was eight years old. Solving problems though my coding has always made my day.
Music: I play the viola in my school's chamber orchestra!

My Recent Projects

DeBunk'D: DeBunk'd is a website where you can learn about media literacy and actively combat. You can view the news in your feed and learn about important issues in today's society. Following the name, there is a section to debunk myths. Another funciton is you can search about...anything! You get fact checked information where you KNOW the sources. There is another tab where you can ask an AI chatbot questions about media literacy along with a catalog of articles about media literacy. (View Project)
Memory Game: My Memory Game is a project where you get to test your memory on a PCB. The 4 lights flash in a random order and you have to repeat it. (View Project)
Orpheus Keychain: The Orpheus Keychain is a keychain where you can press buttons to light LED's on an Orpheus keychain. (View Project)
